The U.S. Division of Justice (DOJ) is scrapping a unit inside the federal company that targeted completely on crypto-related investigations.
In a brand new memo launched Monday, the DOJ says it plans to eradicate the so-called Nationwide Cryptocurrency Enforcement Unit (NCET), which was established throughout the Biden Administration to prosecute crypto-related enterprises.
U.S. Deputy Legal professional Normal Todd Blanche says within the memo that the company is ending the unit now that President Trump has requested for the “finish the regulatory weaponization in opposition to digital belongings.”
