Clicks Keyboard

The original Clicks Keyboard required encasing your phone in its proprietary shell. The new version lets you simply snap the device on.

ZDNET’s key takeaways

  • The Clicks Power Keyboard is a MagSafe puck that mounts onto any supported device.
  • It also works as a wireless input device.
  • Clicks has launched a standalone Communicator made strictly for messaging.

As someone who started using mobile devices in the late 90s, I still have an affinity for mobile QWERTY keyboards. That’s why I’ve found myself impulsively purchasing every new Clicks keyboard case over the past couple of years. It’s a big, probably financially irresponsible, but really fun issue.

Thankfully, with the latest Clicks Power Keyboard, I can now make one simple purchase and have a keyboard to use with all of my phones… and more.

In addition to the Power Keyboard, Clicks announced a new companion smartphone with the Clicks Communicator. This is a BlackBerry-esque smartphone that is primarily focused on communication, featuring a customized launcher that quickly and efficiently gets you into various messaging apps. For a full, detailed look at both of these new products, check out this YouTube video from the folks at Clicks.

There will be three color options for the Clicks Communicator

Clicks Power Keyboard

If I weren’t such a mobile enthusiast and tech reviewer, I would probably still be using my original yellow Clicks keyboard. However, I upgrade my phones annually and also carry both iPhone and Android devices, so I have Clicks Keyboard cases stacking up in my office.

Clicks

I am very excited about the new Clicks Power Keyboard and have already placed my pre-order for that awesome launch price of just $79. It will be available in the spring for a regular price of $109, still a great deal in my opinion

When you first look at the Clicks Power Keyboard, it appears to be a battery pack with a keyboard on the bottom. It connects to your devices via Bluetooth, and the strong magnets on the top of the keyboard securely hold your phone in either landscape or portrait orientation. You slide up the accessory to use the keyboard, and it even supports larger phones with two slide distance settings.

The keyboard is optimized for two-thumb use, and as I have experienced over the years, Clicks continually improves its keyboard with fine-tuning based on user experience feedback and advancements in technology. In addition to using the keyboard with all of your phones, you can use it to enter passwords on your connected TV or tablet.

I personally look forward to using it with the Samsung Galaxy XR headset I purchased, as text input in virtual space is not the best experience.

Clicks Communicator

When I attend client meetings or conferences, I often see people pulling out and using two phones at once. One is associated with work, and one is a personal device. The work one is usually focused on communications, and that is where the upcoming Clicks Communicator could be a perfect option.

In the past, this work phone was often a BlackBerry, and at first glance, the Clicks Communicator looks like a modern BlackBerry device. It’s a balanced presentation of formality and playfulness.

The Clicks Communicator features a hardware QWERTY keyboard optimized for text entry, and even better, it has a touch-sensitive surface — similar to some of the last BlackBerry devices — allowing you to swipe on the hardware keyboard to scroll up and down your inbox.

The keys are larger than those seen on other Clicks Keyboard cases, and the entire experience is centered on keyboard use, with a focus on text entry, shortcuts, and more.

Clicks didn’t just slap a Clicks keyboard on an existing device; it also features hardware buttons optimized for custom alert notifications, easily replaceable back panels with different textures, materials, and colors, a 3.5mm headset jack, and microSD expansion card support. It will be available later in 2026 for $499. You can reserve one now for $199 that locks you in to an early bird price of just $399.
